Where to holiday in autumn ?

Autumn is not just a season when the leaves fall. The days are still long, nature presents a magnificent array of colours, and the summer crowds have deserted the terraces and beaches. It's also a time for the school holidays and long weekends in November. Where to holiday in September and October? We suggest several destinations in certain parts of France where you can still enjoy fine weather at this time of year.

Where to holiday in autumn ? The Mediterranean.

No need to take a plane to find tranquillity and beautiful beaches. Located in the South of France, the Mediterranean offers relaxing days by the water's edge with a sunny climate still ideal for a touch of sunbathing. For holidays in September, October and November, we have several suggested destinations.

Situated between Cannes and Saint Tropez, our residence Le Méditerranée welcomes you for a pleasant stay in Saint Raphaël. First opened in 1914, this magnificent Victorian-style building has been a popular destination for some of the world's most famous names. This is where Scott Fitzgerald found inspiration, as it was here that he wrote "The Great Gatsby". Something to inspire you when you're writing your postcards. When it comes to sightseeing, discover the basilica of Notre Dame de la Victoire, the Tour San Rafeu, the bay of Agay, Fréjus, and the Corniche d'Or. As for activities, golf, tennis, mountain biking, and hiking are all on offer as well as the Museum of History, Prehistory and Underwater Archaeology.

In Hyères, the fine weather lasts right up to the end of the year. In September, there is even more sunshine (on average) than in March and April. To benefit, Le Plein Sud, and its lagoon, offers a yacht-club atmosphere. In large grounds, facing the Iles d'Or, you will obviously enjoy the setting, but also benefit from a wealth of on-site activities. There are many beautiful places to visit in the surrounding area including historic Hyères, Villa Noailles, Giens, the Iles d'Or, Cassis, Bormes-les-Mimosas, Port Grimaud and St Tropez.
